CVFOA Sportsmanship Award

The Central Virginia Football Officials Association ("CVFOA") presents annually two sportsmanship awards, namely, the Stretch Gardner Sportsmanship Award and the George Gasser Sportsmanship Award. These awards are presented to the Central Virginia region high schools served by the CVFOA that demonstrate the highest levels of sportsmanship during the football season.

Each school served by the CVFOA is rated by the game officials for sportsmanship in three categories. The coaches, players, and spectators are rated for sportsmanship in each contest and the results for the season are compiled to determine the award winners.
